It’s been a love-and-hate kinda week for Adam Levine. The Maroon 5 singer trashed the MTV Video Music Awards), not once but with a pair of tweets (he’s got history with VMAs). And now for the mushy part: Maroon 5 has dropped “What Lovers Do,” featuring SZA.
It’s a slick, inoffensive pop number on which Levine and SZA join forces for some ruminations about love. “Are we too grown for games/Are we too grown to play around/Young enough to chase/But old enough to know better,” they sing.
“What Lovers Do” is the followup to Maroon 5’s “Cold” featuring Future. There's no word yet, however, on a release date for their sixth album. Listen to the new track in full below.
